Spring
How good does it sound to hear the first bat crack of spring? Metal or wood, who cares. I heard my first last week. It was early afternoon, on Deering Meadow, and it was a beautiful day. Two swings later a mighty hit nearly landed on my head, but I don't think I would have cared.
Today, another warm and breezy day, I walked past the Meadow at 10 a.m. There were already people throwing a ball around.
