Circus comes to town
The 132nd edition of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's "Greatest Show on Earth" rolled into Atlanta this week, snuggling up close to CNN in the adjacent Philips Arena. I haven't spotted any of their famous circus freaks yet, but with most of their trucks parked in the lot next to mine, the freaks ought to appear any day now.
In the meantime, I've had to settle for seeing elephants. Which, I must say, is hardly settling. If the elephants stuck around CNN Center, they could do great things! Can you imagine the corporate possibilities? "Join AOL now, and get 1,000 free hours and an elephant!"
Seeing live elephants — outside of circuses, zoos and Africa — definitely makes you wonder. Especially when they're lumbering around the parking lot next to yours. If you drove up behind one and honked, for instance, what would happen?
