A TV cop's TV cop
In case the tangled biographies have you wondering how Jerry Orbach was Mae West's driver during his time as a Northwestern student, a story from the Knight-Ridder wire sorts out the timing.
Orbach has been acting so long that his first troupe mates, in summer stock at the Chevy Chase Playhouse in Wheeling, Ill., were Mae West, Vincent Price and John Ireland. It was 1952 and he had just graduated from high school.
And then later he went to NU.
