Absolutely the best thing on Romenesko today

Carl Sessions Stepp, last seen here writing well about Web newsrooms, listens better than anyone who's covered young journalists in the last few years and writes a very thoughtful piece for the American Journalism Review about young newspaper journalists and their bipolarity.

"Young journalists at the Charlotte Observer love their jobs. They value what papers do but find them often dull, out of touch and sluggish. They have passion for their craft but are positioning themselves for a future that may leave newspapers behind."

Thoughts?
