What would I look like with a beard?

More importantly, how would I feel with a beard? Join me on a one-day adventure in personal grooming after my electric razor wakes up dead.

Update at night: How was today? I tried to walk outside and ran into two vultures protecting a nest. That was how today was. Shaveless.

Until I left work, bought a new shaver, ignored the lying Target clerk (we all know you hit the wrong button, junior), took a knife to the plastic packaging, and charged that sucker until it gave me my best shave in years. Welcome to my life, wonderful Norelco 8240XL.

LOL, similar thoughts yesterday as I got half way through blow drying my hair (I work from the bottom up) and my blow dryer decided enough was enough. What did I do with half my hair dry and the other half on top of my head wet? I had to wash it again, pull it in a braid and hairspray the hell out of it. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal… but when it takes me 30 min to dry it, that is a big waste of 20min in my morning. I believe that electronics fail because of intentional manufactoring! It is a marketing plan to retain return business. I remember having the same dryer for years and lately I need a new one every 8months. Anyway… I am rambling :)

You know my feelings on this. A couple weeks with beard combined with a haircut hiatus and you'll be well on your way to your Springsteen transformation. Maybe early Dylan.

Brigid, I read your last line first and for a second thought you bought new clothes dryers on a regular basis. Which would be awesome and crazed. Hope the new hair dryer does better.

I'm interested to see how a new shaver fares — and yes, Dave and @jconeal, there will be a new one by the end of today. Not sure how long this deceased one had lasted, but maybe five years or more. In the few minutes I looked earlier, all the Amazon reviews say they don't make shavers like they used to. But people probably said the same about the blade when it replaced the rock. "Not a close enough shave…."

How come there isn't full documentation of this 1-day beard? I was hoping you wouldn't cave and give a real go at a beard. I demand a re-do complete with pictures!

I agree with Laura… lets get a commitment… start small, perhaps a week.. and follow with pictures :)

The next time my shaver breaks down, absolutely. We can discuss while riding the Orange Line to Tysons and something something holograms.
