Catch-up day

When Beautiful Day comes on the radio and it is a beautiful day, it's like it's Friday and you're actually in love, you're about to eat a burger on a tropical island and you're literally taking it to a bridge, combined. Every song sounds great on the radio this weekend, when where everyone is out or has the windows flung wide open. The sunroof must help the acoustics, but there's so much more going on. John Legend and Hungry Heart are getting play, and I'm hearing Baba O'Riley twice an afternoon.
Among many things, the huge out-and-about highlight: I bought new sneakers today. Apparently nine and a half years is my breaking point. Just like with the computer, the old shoes have come to an end three years after others had told me I needed to buy and probably five years after it became good idea. The new ones are black and make me the fastest man on the planet. (Sports Authority guy, on buying these over another NB pair: "I figured. You didn't strike me as a shiny silver shoes guy.") The runner-up highlight: A left headlight replaces the old one, dead two months. Can tomorrow bring car inspection, only six months overdue? I think so. Who is this me and what have I done with me?
(Later photo update: Of working, reading on the roof this afternoon.)
