Kool and the Gang's sublime Summer Madness, once mentioned in this blog for its Rocky appearance but better known as the sample for DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince's Summertime. This post now's courtesy Charity's raising of sampling in the Mayfield comments. Funny, it just showed up in my Amazon recommendations list this morning. Admittedly, Philosophy 101 kicked my ass in college, but I'll have to check it out at some point.
