The frog umbrellas that keep me honest
I've read two Chateauneuf du Pape jokes(?) recently, one in The New Yorker (describing Chinese wine translations, "'Jiaohuang xin bao' — or 'the pontiff's new fortress' — turns out to be Chateauneuf du Pape") and one from an operetta about the Marshall Plan ("Wines for Sale; will you swap / A little bit of steel for Chateau Neuf du Pape?")
So, it's good to find, upon leaving a wine bar with a friend on a frigid Virginia night, this store window is still what stops me in my tracks.
