Mussels Fettuccine
That was my nickname in the Mafia and what Joel, Carlos and I ate for lunch yesterday. We partook of Restaurant Week at Coeur de Lion, a dining spot hidden in the Henley Park Hotel off Mount Vernon Square.
None of us had ever been there before, but we enjoyed it. The rooms, somewhere between stately and country, had good elbow room for a conversation, and you could forget about the stormy city outside. (We may have checked our smartphones time to time, though.) Among us, we ate a seabed's worth of mussels and fettuccine. They were tasty.
A second standout flavor for me came at dessert. Atop the torte was butter pecan gelato, which sometime, somewhere, I will order again.
