Sorry for the delayed reply… That was my gut too. But I wonder if that's because part of me doesn't expect effort from high up to make getting above zero valuable and worthwhile. The way this is phrased, it's just about the one person. If there are other players, then maybe this is a decent lesson in not consider reaching moving-beyond-feeling-dumb-in-one's-job satisfactory. But the way this is phrased, yes.

This is sad. I would say he just needs ganas to win this battle, but I'm afraid that doesn't work for cancer the same way it did for BC calculus exams.

Mr. Dewer introduced us to Jaime Escalante in the ninth grade. He was so smitten by him that he made us watch camcorder footage of his pilgrimage to Escalante's classroom.

Mr. Dewer also made us dance to They Say It's Your Birthday, but that's another story.

Yo, you are SO wrong about Grant and Hepburn. Or at least THAT Hepburn. The OTHER Hepburn did four flicks with Grant, all terrific: My favorite movie of all time: Philadelphia Story (forget the later version with Kelly and Sinatra), then there was Bringing Up Baby, Holiday and the forgettable Sylvia Scarlett
